Built as the Medinah Athletic Club in 1929, this "reliable" "business hotel", divided between old and new wings, has fans pumped up by its "prime location" on the Mag Mile and "amazing architectural features" including a "wonderful" art deco "tiled indoor pool"; the rooms, however, range from "plushly furnished with gorgeous decor" to a bit "dumpy" (opt for the "historic wing"), and meanwhile service can be "unimpressive."

View from the room was lovely, beds and pillows were comfy.

Luxurious and upscale are the only two words that come to mind when describing this hotel. A great place to stay for a weekend in Chicago.

Room was small.

Hotel was very nice, great location for our needs, upscale especially for the price. Nice to have Starbucks in hotel.

Very stunning entrance. Rooms are lovely.
Bathroom hot faucet handle was broken. The pipe moved sideways, up and down. It was awful, but we did not complain.

The bathroom hot faucet handle was broken, which the maid had to have noticed when cleaning the the sink. It was unacceptable. The parking was outrageously expensive. We were not prepared to pay $53/night, plus the tips involved with taking advantage of the in/out privilege, which made us feel very uncomfortable because obviously the valet who took the car from us expected a tip and the valet who brought the car to us expected a tip as well. As much as we enjoyed your lovely hotel, we would not come back because of the parking situation. ...read more

Great location.
Pool was cold.

Good hotel in a very good location on Michigan Avenue. Staff was friendly. Bad side was that the pool water was quite cool. OK for swimming laps, but not for long in around. Also, the hotel charged for wireless seemed a bit petty. ...read more
